The footballer’s wife welcomed a healthy baby boy.

Jamie and Rebekah's new son made a surprise early arrival at 8:59pm on Sunday 8th January.

The baby was not due until 21st January.

And today, Jamie shared the amazing news with his 554,000 Twitter followers, writing: "Over the moon to announce the arrival of our gorgeous little boy on Sunday evening! Mummy and baby doing great!"

The mum of two kept her fans updated throughout her pregnancy, and even announced the sex of her baby with a Winter Wonderland themed reveal party.

Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine at the time, Rebekah opened up on “the biggest secret” she’s ever had to keep.

“I’m so glad it’s finally out,” she said.

“Megs had a face on because she wanted another sister, but I said to her, ‘You’ve already got one sister so this boy will even things out.’”

And when asked about the reaction of her other children, the 34 year old continued: “Taylor wanted a brother, so when we got home, he was like, ‘What is it?!’

“He saw the blue cake and he was like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s a boy!’

“He was winding Megs up, it was so funny. The first Vardy boy is a big deal for Jamie – it’s his first little boy.

“He’ll have a lot to live up to. I think Jamie secretly hoped for a boy, but ultimately we just want a healthy baby.”

Rebekah and Jamie are already parents to two-year-old Sofia, while Rebekah has two children from a previous relationship – a girl Megan and a boy, Taylor.

And last month, the brunette beauty admitted to feeling “stressed” about the due date.

She explained: “I went to the midwife last Friday and the baby has turned to the side, so is breech at the moment.”

She added: “His head is under my ribs and his feet are in my pelvis, so they can’t turn the baby into the right position for a natural birth.

“It’s likely to be a C-section, but I find out for sure at a scan in mid-December.

“I know it’s out of my control but I don’t want a major operation.

I’ve always had natural births, and it’s the recovery of a C-section I’m worried about.”
